Brendan Benson is a genuine American voice and creative pioneer in the music industry. A co-founding member of The Raconteurs, Benson has released two albums with the band, as well as five solo albums to date. The songs from the most recent full-length release, What Kind of World (2012), are the culmination of the events and relationships, including the motivation found after the birth of his first son Delcan in 2010, as he settled into his new home in Nashville. Benson kept busy in 2012, marking the official announcement Readymade Records, which Benson founded—a venture that has proved new and exciting while simultaneously restoring a little faith in the power of good people and good music. The year wrapped up with the birth of his second child, a girl, Adeline. Inspiration and motivation has Benson digitally releasing a new song each month in 2013 to culminate in a full-length album. In addition to all the duties as a songwriter, musician, label head, and dad, Benson also continues to actively produce records. Benson has produced all the albums released on Readymade, amongst others. Producing has become a focus for Benson as he breaks in his new studio in Nashville and stays close to home to watch his children grow.
