SVP, Music Publishing - Razor & Tie Music Publishing

Sharon Tapper started her career in 1989 at Sarm West Studios in London and was an Assistant Manager at Sarm West, a studio owned and operated by producer Trevor Horn. Frequent clients at the studio included Seal, George Michael, Pet Shop Boys, Michael Kamen, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart. Upon relocating to the U.S. she worked at Left Bank Management in Los Angeles from 1993 to 1997 as an Assistant Manager, responsible for the day to day management for The Cranberries, Meat Loaf and Richard Marx. While there Sharon was promoted to Tour Marketing Manager for the entire management roster while continuing day to day management responsibilities. Other artists she worked with at Left Bank included Duran Duran, Luther Vandross, John Mellencamp, Motley Crue, and The Bee Gees. From 1997 to 1999, she was an Assistant Manager to Gallin Morey and was responsible for the day to day management for Lisa Stansfield, Neneh Cherry and Eagle-Eye Cherry. Upon relocating to New York, Sharon was an artist manager at The Umbrella Group from 1999 through 2005 where she worked with the company roster CAKE, Bebel Gilberto, Eagle-Eye Cherry, Neneh Cherry and Grant-Lee Phillips (formerly of Grant Lee Buffalo). In 2003, while at The Umbrella Group Sharon started Consulting for Kobalt Music Publishing, which evolved into her being hired to be their VP Creative through 2011. At Kobalt she was responsible for signing artists such as Slash, G Love, The Dresden Dolls, Gomez, Harry Connick Jr, Sharon Jones And The Dap Kingsas well as publishers Arthouse, TVT, Red Bull Media, House of Hassle, Reservoir Media and Razor & Tie. In 2011, Sharon became VP Music Publishing at Razor & Tie Music Publishing (RTMP). Within eighteen months they enjoyed success with three #1 Country hits and quadruple platinum hit with "Home" by American Idol winner Phillip Phillips (co-written by ASCAP writer Greg Holden). RTMP appeared on the Billboard Top 10 Publishers Airplay Chart for the third time since the company's formation four years ago and during 2012 for two consecutive quarters on the Billboard Top 10 Country Publishers Airplay Chart. Since 2008, Sharon has been Governor of the New York Chapter of NARAS/The Recording Academy, she is currently the Secretary of the Executive Committee and Co-Chairs the Education Committee.
