Co-Founder & Artist Manager - Chris Brown Entertainment & Phase Too Management

Tina Davis is recognized as one of the hardest working, most respected managers in the entertainment business. As manager of Grammy winning, multi-platinum recording artist Chris Brown, Davis knows what it means to not only manage high profile clients, but to also help them thrive in a rapidly changing, and vigorously competitive landscape. Says former Warner Music Group boss Lyor Cohen, “During Tina’s tenure at Def Jam, I could confidently place Tina in any arena and watch her thrive competing with the best of them.”  Tina began her professional career as an on-air personality for the local radio station in Ruston, LA KRUS, as a reporter and anchor for the Grambling student TV station, as well as commentator for the University’s basketball and football games. From there Tina moved on to becoming the Operations Manager for a syndicated radio show called Lee Bailey’s Radioscope. In 1994, Tina was hired as a creative assistant in the Black Music division of Chrysalis Music Publishing, a year later she was offered the opportunity of a life time to be an A&R administrator at Def Jam’s budding West Coast office. It was there that Tina discovered multi-platinum selling artist Montell Jordan, who went on to release the smash single “This is How We Do it,” which went on to sell a million records and also helped Def Jam recover from a tough year in music sales. Tina was then promoted to the head of Def Jam West where she was in charge of overseeing the labels entire West Coast roster. Then Def Jam CEO Lyor Cohen was so impressed with Tina’s hard work and business savvy, he persuaded her to move to New York as Senior Vice President of A&R. Tina spent 10 years at Def Jam where she oversaw the careers of superstars such as 112, Musiq Soulchild, and LL Cool. Always one to challenge herself, in 2005 Tina left a successful career at Def Jam to start her own imprint The Tina Davis Company. It was then that she discovered a 14 year old Chris Brown. Tina immediately recognized the talent and star quality in Brown and has been with him his entire career. To date, Chris Brown has several multi-platinum selling albums, a Grammy award, has appeared in several major motion films, has just launched Symphonic Love, his charitable organization, recently birthed a clothing line which will appear at The Agenda Tradeshow Long Beach at the top of 2013, and he’s also a painter and graffiti artist recently having a couple of his pieces displayed at Art Basel 2012 in Miami, all at the tender age of 23 and with the guidance of Tina Davis. 2013 is poised to be a big year for Tina as she is showing no signs of slowing down. She recently formed Chris Brown Entertainment and Phase Too Management with Brown where she is developing several artists hand picked by Brown and herself. To hear her tell it “Like most successful, career oriented women, my ultimate goal has always been to get married and have kids, but for right now she is focusing on nurturing her current babies, CBE and Phase Too Management. If my past success is an indication of my future prosperity, my babies will forever have a platinum spoons in their mouths."
